meet the creeps II reviews

Review from www.SternFanNetwork.com

I am quite the fan of the first addition of Meet The Creeps, so gentle reader you can imagine the smile on my face when an envelope from Florentine Productions ended up recently in my mailbox.  For those who may be uninitiated, the Meet The Creeps series is a simple idea with unlimited possibilities: Put some button cams and microphones out in everyday places and then do the unexpected to any mark within reach. This is true “Reality TV” and the results are often hysterical!  Frankly, Volume One of Meet The Creeps was a riot and this writer couldn’t wait to pop ‘addition #2’ into the player and let the laughs roll on. Straight up- I was far from disappointed!
The DVD opens with “All You Can Eat Buffet.”  This amusing piece sets the tone for most of the disc. Florentine and Company shine brightest when their target is a group of people who use English as a second language. I wont give anything away, but their outlandish misbehavior in an Asian restaurant gets the staff and the other customers in an uproar. My favorite touch is the convenient subtitling complete with phonetic errors when anyone whom possesses an accent opens their trap in protest… “PRATES!”
For those who are fans of Meet The Creeps Volume 1, there is a new twist on this addition.  The players try their hand at sketch comedy and parody with winning results.  Three separate chapters on the DVD are scripted works and were a radical departure from the remaining pieces. On the first of these “Play Ball!” none other than The Reverend Bob Levy gets a chance to show some of his chops when it comes to situation comedy. Levy is a natural in front of the camera and his portrayal of ‘an angry, frustrated man at the bar’ was a chuckle of self-parody.  The Reverend is that guy and Levy plays him so well.
A true standout on the disc is Club Soda Kenny. For those who are unfamiliar with Club Soda Kenny, he is a behemoth of a man with a hatchet face, and a delivery that can either make you wince with fear or paralyze you with laughter. On several chapters of the disc Kenny is teamed with Jim Norton a human that resembles a nervous weasel - a perfect foil for Kenny’s character. Their exploits on this DVD would have anyone else arrested for assault or many other trumped up charges. Kenny’s size and presence seems to free Norton and himself from any target that would dare challenge them. An advantage consistently exploited throughout this volume.
In closing Meet The Creeps Volume 2 is a delight for any adult who is tired of formulaic, edgeless comedy.  Jim Florentine and Company are not on the edge… They dangerously recreate it!

Review from www.cringehumor.com

I'm not going to sit here & bullshit you, but this DVD is without question one of the funniest things I have seen in a LONG time. The shit that takes place on it is so cringe worthy & wrong, you often sit there & feel bad for laughing like a retarded Japanese school girl.
It is amazing how every member of the DVD keeps a straight face while they mess around with their unsuspecting victims. The stuff that takes place on the hour long comedic masterpiece is going to influence so many people, I wouldn't be surprised if some ignorant parent sues Florentine Productions after their retarded child delivers an upper-decker. Hell, I'm 24 and I can't wait to do one in a hotel room ASAP.
My favorite moment of the DVD takes place when Jim Norton plays the autistic younger brother of 6'6" behemoth Club Soda Kenny. Watching Kenny manhandle & slap around the diminutive Norton is worth the $20 alone. Kenny is such a big, loud, retarded looking goon, it is priceless seeing how uncomfortable he makes other people.
Other highlights include a hilarious version of the "You Dropped Something" game, Artie Lange buying gay porno, Florentine's obsession with pepper, and Jim & Don acting like priests at a Girls Gone Wild club event. There is also an animated version of the "Brothers" phone call from Jim's Terrorizing Telemarketers Vol. 3 CD that is top notch.
In between some of the segments, we get to see HOT Anna Lexington (dressed in next to nothing) segue the next scene. I would simply eat the corn out of her shit.
The production of the DVD is great. Most of it was filmed in pen sized hidden cameras located on the ear of Patrick Kendall and some of the other cast members. Considering the source of film, the quality is superb and the sound is even better.
To sum it all up, Jim & Don are going to hell (watch the "flowers" chapter on the DVD to see why). If that's the case, I plan on murdering a few Puerto Ricans, 'cause hell is going to be one fun place to spend an eternity with them around.

Rated: Childish and Offensive

Yaay! Jim Florentine and his buddy Don Jamieson have put their hijinks on DVD! Yaay!
Anyone who listens to the Howard Stern Show has probably heard Jim's '' Terrorizing Telemarketers '' calls where he tortures telemarketers who call his home. You may have heard him on Comedy Central's ''Crank Yankers'' as the retarded puppet ''Special Ed'' or Bobby Fletcher the rude, belching, annoying guy. Jim has been goofing on people and torturing them his whole life. Now he and his friends have taken their rude behavior and caught it on hidden camera video.
I've been lucky enough to have seen Jim and his buddies in action in person. The crap they pull is childish and stupid but you can't help but laugh your ass off when you see people reacting to it. Something as simple as saying ''You dropped something!'' to someone as they walk by turns into a minute long search for an imaginary item. I've seen it happen and couldn't help but laugh. Now everyone can see it on ''Meet The Creeps.''
The ''Creeps'' on this DVD include comedians Jim Florentine, Don Jamieson, KC Armstrong (The Howard Stern Show), Artie Lange (The Howard Stern Show), Jim Norton, Club Soda Kenny, Gary Gentile and Chuck Mignanelli (Grandpa from Terrorizing Telemarketers)... and Anna Lexington the hot intro chick whose breasts are dangerously close to falling out of her shirt.
On the hilarious DVD you'll find bits like ''Urban Fishing'' where Jim, Don and KC go into an Asian market armed with Sponge Bob Square Pants kid-sized fishing poles and go fishing for live fish in the fresh fish tanks. Then there's Jim's infamous fresh pepper bit where he has a restaurant waiter grind fresh pepper on his food until there's literally a pile of it on his plate. In this segment Jim has the waiter grinding fresh pepper for 35 minutes. He goes through three pepper mills full of pepper. After the mill gives up they start crushing the pepper in the kitchen with a mallet. Four bowl fulls later, Jim has enough pepper and proceeds to eat the piece of chicken that was buried in pepper. KC does something similar with fresh Parmesan cheese but stops after two bowls full and has his meal wrapped to go.
There's also a little bit of animation on this DVD. Jim and Don did a call for the ''Terrorizing Telemarketers'' CD where they pretended to be brothers and passed the phone back and forth as the telemarketer asked them questions. Each one would say ''Hold on, let me put my brother on the phone'' and pass it to the other every few seconds. They took this call and had it animated.
There are many other great bits on this DVD including Jim drinking and smoking a joint while he test drives a car, the guys going to a supermarket and throwing stuff in people's carts when they walk away from them, Jim and Don performing ''Upper Deckers'' in hotel rooms and more.
The very tall and sometimes intimidating Club Soda Kenny makes a couple of appearances in the DVD and steals the show when he and Jim Norton go shopping for gum. Sounds normal enough until you see Jim Norton acting as Kenny's autistic friend. There's nothing like seeing the uncomfortable look on the store clerk's face as Kenny slaps Jim's hand away from the gum as he goes to grab it. Kenny tells Jim to get the gum but ends up slapping him away saying that he'll get it for him. They also go to a supermarket to get some free samples of ice cream. Kenny slaps Norton's hand away as he grabs the cup and tells him ''Don't take anything from strangers!'' right after he told him he could have some ice cream. The woman giving the free samples takes about 3 steps backwards when she sees what's going on. Her frightened reaction is probably exactly what these guys are going for when they do this shit.
There's a lot more on the DVD but you'll have to get a copy to see it yourself. It's worth the $20 or so you'll spend to get it. Trust me, go order it at MeetTheCreeps.com . You can also get a couple of preview clips on the site.

Jim Florentine has brought you three audio volumes on CD of “Terrorizing Telemarketers”, giving telemarketers a heavy dose of what George Carlin would refer to as a “mental hotfoot”. This past year he has been a regular on Comedy Centrals “Crank Yankers” creating characters that have become the favorites of the show!
Now for the first time, Jim brings himself, and stand up comics Don Jamieson, Artie Lange, and Jim Norton to your small screen for his debut DVD “Meet The Creeps” Also with a little additional help from K.C. Armstrong, Club Soda Kenny, Chuck Mignanelli, and Gary Gentile they take on a daily tour of yanking the chains of those that cross their paths! No one is safe from being a target, not even their own girlfriends are excluded from their comedic wrath! So if you run a Chinese fish market, a swank restaurant, a grocery store, a strip club, a news stand, a barber shop, a used car lot, or have an apartment for rent, etc … you may be on this DVD! There is a perfect warning label on the box “WARNING this material is childish and offensive”. There is nothing toooo gross or X-rated for anyone on the disc, this is an hour of pure everyday reality comedy folks! I’m sure that Great comic minds like Lenny Bruce and Sam Kinison are smiling down on the release of stuff like this! Also included on the disc is an extra added bonus of some animation put to a couple of tracks from Jim’s CD’s “Terrorizing Telemarketers”

MEET THE CREEPS (Florentine Productions ) Comedy. Approx 67 minutes. Not rated. Using a hidden camera to capture their folly, head Creeps Jim Florentine (Terrorizing Telemarketers, Crank Yankers, frequent guest on The Howard Stern Show) and Don Jamison (I think he’s a stand up comic) , team up with a clan of other Creeps to annoy and aggravate various victims with their pranks. Trust me, these pranks are as hilarious as they are childish, and that’s a very good thing. Joining Jim and Don is a collection of unsavory, comedy standup riff raff; KC Armstrong (Stern Show), Artie Lang (movies, tv, Stern Show), Jim Norton (Opie & Anthony Show - I think this guy is one of the funniest pricks out there), Club Soda Kenny (I have no idea who this creature is, but damn he’s a fabulous Creep), Gary Gentile (no idea), and Chuck Mignanelli (again, no idea). Together, this fine ensemble basically pulls every prank in the book…other than picking their noses and wiping it on people (hey, maybe I’ll do that and ask to be part of Creeps 2). Eighteen pranks and two animated bits make up this symphony of shenanigans.
Along with being a huge Jim Florentine and Jim Norton fan, I also just happen to love these types of pranks. So as you might imagine, Meet the Creeps filled my day with hysterical laughter. No, I am not going to reveal the pranks pulled, as that would ruin the DVD. However, I will write that I could have watched 20 hours of Jim Norton and Club Soda Kenny performing their “Autistic” caper. Honestly, I was on the floor laughing like a crazed lunatic. Yes, there is some potty humor that may gross you out, but everyone needs a little potty prank every now and then. After viewing a performance he liked, Johnny Carson, former host of The Tonight Show, would often turn to his co-host and say “That’s good stuff, Ed.” Well, after viewing this DVD, I’d bet Johnny would turn to his co-host and say, “That’s good stuff, Ed…pull my finger.” Very funny DVD.
